Out on the trail

The silence of the night was... not unnerving... No... It was nice... Calming... A good change, if he did say so himself. He wouldn't hesitate to mention how much of a bitch it was to get out of the locked down Manhattan. Hardest thing he'd done in ages, but it was defiantly worth it. Hell, it was easier than his previous attempts, seeing as Blackwatch was probably distracted by this new outbreak he'd been hearing about. Something about the Green Flu. Shrugging off the mention of it's deadliness, he'd used such an opportunity to get free. Hell, Dana probably missed him, but... There was no doubt she'd probably seek him out again, thus killing the chance of him having to return to that noisy mess of demolished buildings.

Striding along a forested dirt path, he'd shoved his hands in his pockets and glanced upwards at the brilliant night sky. The lights of New York had always blotted out such glorious pinpricks. Even if he'd probably seen them in his previous life, he couldn't really remember the look of them, now could he? Distracted with such childish awe, he trudged slowly along, ignoring anything that approached upon him. After all, who'd be stupid enough to sneak up on Alex Mercer?

He cracked a tiny smirk, eyes darting around the blackness above him. Due to no cities being present for miles, it was entirely clear. Pristine. Awaiting his gaze. Galaxies swirled. Nebulae meandered. Stars gleamed and twinkled. All seemingly for him. After a bit, he finally paused, glancing before him. There sloped a steep descent in the path, winding it's way down one of the great hills it sat upon. The view that such an opportunity presented him with caused him to pause. To stare. His icy blue eyes scanned skyline, growing slightly wider. Never had he seen the endless rolling hills of nature. Never had he been able to look past the crowded streets of Manhattan. Always had he been forced to live within the domain of man. Never resting in the bosom of Gaia herself.

Alex's form was frozen on the spot, lips slightly parted. It wasn't everyday that he was reduced to such sheer awe. Then again, it wasn't everyday that he got to glance outside the only place he'd called home.

Heavy, hurried thuds, as from hiking boots, echoed to the being. If he looked behind him, an averaged sized, built girl was hurrying along the path, slung on her back was a sniper rifle and a medkit. On her belt dangled an adrenaline shot and a pipe bomb, in her hands? A desert eagle 44. magnum. She jogged, gun aimed at the ground, eyes ahead and flashlight off in case of infected.... She didnt see him... yet....

His gaze raised skyward once more, ignorant of everything around him. If he heard her coming, he certainly didn't pay any mind to it. No. It must be some sort of scurrying animal in the woods. Or maybe a soft breeze rustling the leaves. Or maybe a trick of his ears. Either way, Alex merely floated back into his own personal world. Hood up. Icy eyes scanning the sky. Observing.

The woman continued on until she spotted the taller figure... His HEIGHT made her think of a smoker... yet he wore a hoodie.... "H-hello....?" She said hesitantly, gripping the gun tightly, ready to take off safety and fire if needed...

She'd been through hell and back... and back again! she was still in it so to speak. Hell on earth. She'd already been through a few cities, suffered a good amount of injury but luckily no bites....

At the sound of a voice, Alex froze. Whipping around, his icy blue eyes quickly scanned her form as best it could in the dark. Sure, it spoke... but was it human? Blinking once, he'd flicked on his thermal vision, now seeing her plain as day within the blanketing night air. Her form seemed a little chilled by the soft breezes running up the hill, but, other than that, she showed up as a bright red blob in his field of vision. Human or not, she was defiantly alive. That he COULD confirm. However, some of these new infected had heat traces as well...

Stepping back a bit, his gaze narrowed. "You one of them?" he called between the few meters of distance between them. Surely, his icy gaze could be spotted plainly in the night. It seemed to suck up the starlight and reflect it like the moon itself. Stance shifting into a slight crouch, he was ready to either strike or run.

the woman narrowed her eyes and twirled her gun on a finger. "No. Hell no. You?" She asked tentatively. She had yet to run into one whom could speak... hopefully this wasnt a trap...

The man suddenly smirked, as if he'd hatched some sort of horridly cheesy pun in his mind. "Well... Not really..." Did that count as lieing? Since when did he care? He WAS infected, but that was with something else entirely. Yet another sick realization to feed her later on... If he decided to stick around, that is.

The woman narrowed her eyes, hesitantly lowering then holstering the weapon. "What do you mean 'not really'...? Are you infected with the green flu or not...?" She narrowed her eyes. "Are you just trying to mess with me...?"

Alex chuckled and trotted a bit closer, still wearing that shit-eating grin. "Not the green flu... No..." he said as he closed the distance between them. "And I guess messing with people is... Kinda my job... I guess..." Did being a genetically adept virus count as a job? Cause he sure fucked with people via that on a DAILY BASIS.

Misty blinked curiously, relaxing her stance only a little... if he looked her over, she was in light, efficient survival attire.... no high heels for one. HA.
"...Misty." She said simply, extending a leatherclad hand. "Used to be a contract killer before all this bullshit hit."

The man paused for a moment, looking over her form. Compared to her light attire, what he was wearing suddenly looked sort of bulky. Layers upon layers of cloth and leather... Not like he'd change anytime soon, however. Taking her hand, he gently shook it, having a slightly loose, but not completely dead-fish like, grip. "Alex..." He muttered, not wishing to give everything away just yet. Hopefully she wouldn't ask about anything personal. After all, she'd give him HER occupation... Shouldn't he return the favor?

She was curious... however, she didnt nose in. She gave him a good gripped hand shake and looked him over. "You odnt have a gun.... How'd you make it out here?" She asked, raising a brow and planting a fist on her hip.

Alex merely shot her a sly grin. Him? Use a gun? The thought of it was almost comical to him. "I have my ways..." he snickered, knowing damn well how exactly he'd gotten out. What exactly he'd used... But it wasn't like he was about to tell hr anytime soon. Even of she asked nicely. He'd probably humor her by mentioning some sort generic gun...

Misty raised a brow. "I see..." she muttered. "I take it you have no team....? it aint safe to stay out here in the open...." she sounded extremely hesitant to make such an offer.... she could at least hang around with him for a little ways.

He the. Have her a look that pretty much SCREAMED 'No shit'. "No. I don't actually have a team... Are trying to hint that we should..." At this, he smirked almost seductively. Dispite, his lack of appetite for either sex, he still seemed to retain the ability of seduction. And he might as well get started now. God knows when her soon to be desire for him would come in handy..

She blushed rather lightly, pretending not to notice. "Depends. You interested?" She said, hands on her supply clad hips. Her eyes were impassive... she tried not to give in to THAT form of desire....
